We visited as a couple for a 5 hour experience and had a fantastic time. The forge is well equipped so you have your own space to work and all the instructors were friendly and helpful - special thanks to Tom and Eve who were brilliant. We made two hanging basket brackets which we are looking forward to putting up in the garden, and a couple of bottle openers as a bonus. A brilliant day!

Genuinely one of the best experiences we’ve ever done. Ben and the rest of the staff are super friendly, funny, knowledgeable and trusting. The experience was set out in a way that really made us feel like we made our Dagger from scratch. We will definitely be back soon, a new lifetime hobby has been forged!

My husband and I shared a fantastic 5 hour experience and made a rose! Brilliant set up, lots of knowledgeable, friendly and highly experienced staff members. Their main aim was to make sure you went home with something you were proud of, and were we ever! Highly recommend.

My wife treated me for my birthday forging an axe. It was an absolutely amazing experience which I’m still buzzing one week later! All the staff were great, friendly and fully supportive. An experience and memory that I’ll cherish forever! Can’t wait to re book for next year to forge another axe or a sword. Highly recommend.

Honestly, I can't praise the guys at Oldfield enough. I had a knife forging experience gifted to me for my birthday, and it was exceptionally brilliant! All of the blacksmiths were creative, crazily-skilled craftsmen who clearly love their job. The expert help and advice was all given in an extremely encouraging and positive manner, and left me feeling like I had made a lot of tangible progress in the half-day class. My only complaint is how quickly the time flew, with how much fun I was having! The forge itself is really well set up, with the forging and grinding in two separate areas. There were a few different classes going on at the same time, and the forge was more than big enough for everyone. I was actually shocked at how little time I spent waiting for my turn at any point - you're kept busy and engaged the whole session! Truly, I have no notes. I've had brilliant day, and thanks to the lovely chaps at the forge I've come away with a knife that I'm really proud of. I'm already trying to decide what session I want to book onto next!

What a day! We booked in for the wedding ring experience, but the other people making swords, knives, hammers etc. Seemed to be having a ball too! - The staff are simply brilliant. Well trained and extremely knowledgeable. We were so lucky to have a 1 to 1 session with our expert ring forger Joe. We started with a simple lump of metal and ended up with the most fantastic set of rings! Be prepared to be extremely hands on and get a bit dirty. A proper blacksmiths experience. 100% would do this again!

Amazing place to forge. We had a course for making rings around 7 hours with Joe. He was super friendly and helpful. He helps you all the time if you cannot do it alone. You have little explanation of things and then you do them. There is a place with heating and then you go to another place to grind them. The result is surprisingly amazing. You don't expect it but seems you have bought it somewhere else. You can do knifes, swords and axes among others.

Amazing time (as ever!) at the forge. It’s our third trip, so seeing some of the guys who helped us make swords and wedding rings before was great, but this time we have to say a big thanks to Ethan and Chef for being most excellent guides and enabling us to come out with a shiny shiny axe! Thanks all and big love.
